B-Nut fitting likely cause of fatal crash
The National Transportation Safety Board says a loose B-nut fitting on the carburetor fuel inlet line was the likely cause of a November 2003 crash in Saticoy, Calif. Investigators say in examining the engine, fuel spilled out of the plane when the electric boost pump was activated. Pilot Russ Cathaway was killed in the crash. (More) |

We're keeping an eye on this thread on the Yahoo group, "rvsqn," where Simon Bromiley reported, "A few stones trapped in the spat were enough to cause a burst tyre. Time to revisit spat fitting I think." Find the picture at his Web site.
