    Return fuel vapor lines
    A look at the installation

It was well after my fuel tanks were closed up, but before my engine was selected, that I first discovered the fuel-vapor return line mentioned on a bulletin board somewhere. Some engine configurations -- some fuel injected engines, for example, especially those using an AF fuel injection system -- require them. Now there's documentation on how they're installed, thanks to "Capt. John" on Rivetbangers.com. (More)

B-Nut fitting likely cause of fatal crash
The National Transportation Safety Board says a loose B-nut fitting on the carburetor fuel inlet line was the likely cause of a November 2003 crash in Saticoy, Calif. Investigators say in examining the engine, fuel spilled out of the plane when the electric boost pump was activated. Pilot Russ Cathaway was killed in the crash. (More)
